Prayer Meeting....
Just a few posts ago, I was just mentioning that its the end of my programmes planning duty.. it seems like its never ending.. =/
last sunday was the 2nd sunday of the month, which is the designated prayer meeting for YA.. from the past prayer meetings that i've planned so far, i can say that planning prayer meetings is the most demoralising event of all.. most of us tends to skip YA when they heard or saw the 2 eyes catching words 'Prayer Meeting'.
Despite the effort to make YA Meetings as interesting as possible, people still wouldnt come.. Has prayer really been a 'no-no' in our lives these days? Have it really become so uninteresting that it'd become an excuse to skip it..
We've planned for a prayer walk that resembles a treasure hunt for the last PM.. clues cards are supposed to be given and the prayer pointers will be given to the group to pray on the spot.. these are the initial plan.. but.. sadly to say, due to the 'overwhelmingly' small number of people who came, we had to put that plan off.. and settled with the small groups doing prayer walk praying over the pointers on the prayer cards.. sometimes i really feels that the whole planning is rather pathetic.. there is people who laughed at the idea of the way we did the prayer walk.. it is something which is really not very encouraging..
Oh God.. i already had the intention of stepping down of the YA Committee when my sch starts.. but all these really makes me wanted up give up even more.. is it the devil trying to convince me that there's really NO WAY that we can get all the YA to pray in unity? That their prayer lives are a failure? I would say that yes, its Satan who's working in my mind.. asking me to give up asap..
But i know that my intention of stepping down is NOT because of that reason.. its because of my workload when sch starts, which is y i needed to moderate my committements in various minsitries in church.. well, i guess that might be my last time planning for the prayer meeting.. but i still believe that God is in control.. i still continue to pray that He will draw the YA nearer to Him each day, in His own unique ways..
I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper to be with you forever - the Spirit of truth. - John 14:16-17
Kid's Prayer
I want to know You, Lord
You are a Great Big God
I’m young and do not know a lot
Come and be my all
I want to love You more
Giving You my life and all
You died for me
You’ve sacrificed
I wont forget You, Lord
I love You, Jesus
I’ll grow up knowing You
I love You, Jesus
My life is saved by You
I’ll never forget, never forget
I’ll grow up loving You.
The Eagle Test
The Lord calls His people to be like eagles.. but why has God chosen eagles and not something else?
"Mount up on wings as eagles"
Here's something i learnt from the book that I've been reading...
Eagles only consume life-giving food. When it consume something that makes it sick, it will fly to the highest rock it can find and lay spread eagles with its wings out against the surface of the rock. It stays there until the sun draws out the poison, freeing it to fly with the other eagles.
Female eagles like to test their male counterpart. When the female knows a male is intersted, she leads him on a chase through the skies, swooping and diving and soaring high above the hills. When the chase is nearly over, she flies as high as she can and flips onto her back, free-falling toward the ground. It is the male's job to place his body over hers and grasp her talons, flapping his wings. Moments before they hit the ground, the female pulls out of the dive and circles the male. Because he had been willing to stay even into death (he grabe on to her and refuses to let go), he will have proven himself as a mate. The eagles are joined for life from that point on.
God has called each and everyone of us to be like eagles. Marriage is a commitment that you make just like the eagles, unto death..
Now i understand why God says love never fails.. But are we willing to hold on to it and pass the eagle test?
With God, all things are possible... =)
His Love Endures Forever...
In the society today, the word 'divorce' has becoming more and more common and accepted by people.. Seemingly in today's age of pursuing self-gratification, men and women had to resort to such finale to their God written love stories, even before God. Though its more than certain that God didnt agree in divorce in the first place.
Well, clearly this word is no unfamilar to me.. My family is near broken once and I cant really tell you how it felt like. The feeling of brokeness and lost, anger... these are simply insufficient to explain to anyone how you feel when you're near living in this world incomplete..
The suicide attempt incident serve as a constant reminder of how important a family is.. It teaches me how important it is to really entrust the pen of one's life to God.. God is good, but human nature tends to take their lives in their own hands, believing that they are able to change the world. But the heart strickening truth is that we are weak.. I believe that God allow things to happen for His reasons..
I can say that the relationships at home are much better now, with no mentions of the word 'divorce' till now. The relationship between my mum and dad is not superd, but it is under the control of the great big God who cares.. Though both my parents have not known the Lord, i'm sure the day will come, when they will proclaim that He is the Lord of their lives..
I've been reading a book titled 'A Time to Dance' by Karen Kingsbury.. Though its a frictional book, it clearly brings me through the journey of how a marriage can be broken easily just by pure human decisions and ignoring God voice when He speaks..
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
Love is patient and kind.. love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. love never fails.. God explained so clearly in His Word that true love endures, just like how He'd chose to flourish His love for us despite the many times when we chose to disobey Him..
The book clearly brings me through the family of Abby and John where their marriage is near end when their daugther, Nicole and Matt was getting married. Through the waiting time to annouce the decision to their children after Nicole comes back from honeymoon, God showed Abby that reconcilation was possible through the Matt's parents who reconciled during their son's wedding, after giving up for many years.
Yes, the ending of the story is meant to be good, just like God's plan for us. I believe God is faithful when we learn to put our trust in Him. Reconcilation is not impossible.
God is a God of love. He is capable of turning the world around to make its alright. But are we willing to allow it to happen? Are we willing to wait upon the Lord and hear Him speak?
Frankly, i ever felt like giving up before too.. But God is just amazing in His ways.. He wants me to know that He is still in control of everything if I allow Him to.
His Love Endures Forever...
